All of our tissue salts may be used safely during pregnancy, lactation and by infants and children. Due to legal requirements on exports however, we are compelled to place a precaution advising people who are pregnant, lactating, or who have a medical condition to consult their practitioner; this is fairly standard practice in the health industry on most reputable products.

Our formulation is a pure D6 or one part per million Biochemic trituration. The ‘Triple Strength’ refers to our larger sized tissue salt tablet, allowing you to use one tablet instead of three. This remains gentle enough for infants or children to use – for infants simply crush a tablet and rub a little onto the gums as required.

We have seen many bouncing babies arrive to happy mums who used our tissue salts throughout their pregnancy, and to help with things like baby colic, regurgitations, and their own exhaustion and recuperation after delivery.

Polyols are a group of carbohydrates also known as sugar-alcohols, and they are found naturally in stone fruits and a number of other plants, vegetables and their fibres. Xylitol is the most well known of these at the moment, and polyols are commonly used as sugar replacers in many sugar-free foods, toothpastes, diabetic and pharmaceutical products. ‘Polyol’ or ‘sugar-alcohol’ is a chemical structure term and must not be confused with alcohol in the alcoholic beverage sense of the word – that form of alcohol is called ethanol.

Some polyols in their crude state can cause digestive upsets such as flatulence or diahorrea in very sensitive or food-intolerant subjects, usually when they are used frequently or in large amounts. We use a proprietary blend of polyols, specific to tableting applications, and have found that our products are tolerated very well. Although sweet tasting, they are sugar-free; and this is a confusing dynamic to the tastebuds. The body does not absorb them, and they behave similarly to digestive fibre and pass through the digestive tract with little metabolic change, releasing just the mineral energies that they hold when the tissue salts are chewed or dissolved in the mouth.

The polyols in our tissue salts have a prebiotic effect and have been effective for many sensitive and food-intolerant clients. If you are sensitive and can eat stone fruits such as plums or prunes, or vegetables such as beetroot, you should have no problem using our tissue salts, particularly if you stick to the basic recommended dose when starting out. When there is a lack of intestinal flora due to past use of antibiotics, candida, too much sugar in the diet upsetting the natural balance and so on, we advise sensitive people who experience flatulence to use a probiotic as well for the first few weeks.

My daughter suffered eczema allergies since birth, and developed some extreme food intolerances along the way, yet has been fine using the polyol-based tissue salts. At one stage about 3 years ago, she was tested and advised to eliminate wheat and gluten, dairy products and even some vegetables such as green peppers. It left precious little that she could have, but she was able to use the tissue salts throughout this period – in fact she increased her use of tissue salts during this time, without using the modified method detailed below. She has now overcome these intolerances and her diet has restored to being regular almost all of the time. I think that part of that process has been the fact that she has been using the tissue salts whilst being careful with her diet and listening to her body.

How to use the tissue salts in cases of extreme sensitivities

It is really difficult to find a perfect diluent to fit everyone’s needs and I hope the day arises when such a product emerges that will be suitable for trituration and holding the mineral energies of the tissue salts. At this stage, the polyols are the most optimal to fit the processing and stability requirements of our product. Where people have extreme sensitivities, we are able to resolve it in one of two ways:

by dissolving the tablets in a little boiling water (perhaps crushing them with a spoon in the hot water) and then adding enough cold water to cool it down. The solution can then be held in the mouth, moved around for a minute or so, and then expectorated. The mouth may be rinsed with clear water afterwards too.

Another option is to crush the tablets, and apply them with a moistened toothbrush onto the teeth (as in using brushing powders) then rinsing the mouth afterwards. This way the minerals can be absorbed by the buccal mucosa without the absorption of the diluent.

I recently returned to Cape Town from Tokyo, where I was presenting a Colour and Tissue Salts workshop to a group of Aura-Soma practitioners. It was an enormous privilege to be there at this beautiful cherry-blossom time, just a month after the devastating earthquake and tsunami in March. Some folks questioned my sanity before I left South Africa, with aftershocks and radiation dangers omnipresent in Japan. For me, there was never any question about following through with arrangements unless the invitation was postponed, but I did reflect on this quite deeply before I left.

There was a synchronicity that I felt unable to ignore. In order to obtain my visa, I needed proof of my return air ticket. On March 10 I paid and collected it from my agent and headed off to the local Consulate of Japan with all my forms completed. Less than 24 hours later the earthquake and tsunami hit. I must say it left me wondering what would evolve, but I felt very deeply that I was in this situation for a reason.

The second part of this synchronicity unfolded when I asked Sachiko, the course co-ordinator and my gracious hostess, whether she felt it appropriate to go ahead with the arrangements at this time; if it would not be too much for her or the students to deal with so soon. I would be arriving within 3 weeks of the devastating event.

Her reply to me was unwavering: ‘We are going to do your course, and the students want to do it. Now we have still earthquakes in Japan, and we have a big problem about the radioactivity. The students would like to learn Tissue Salts much more because of such time.’

There was my answer; with such a magnet pulling me, I would not resist. From that moment on I relied on an old friend: the trust that I would be safe and protected wherever I am. Whenever I heard someone else’s fears echoing toward me, I called on this sense of trust that is something I have developed as a consequence of living in South Africa with all its inherent ‘dangers’.

I began the workshop as I usually do – checking the energy fields of all the participants. I was humbled to see that 99% of the participants had the ‘Humpty Dumpty’ shock-trauma stress pattern, where we ‘jump out of our skins’ and the energy field shifts to a position on the left-hand-side of the body. Although one expects shock patterning after the events Japan has endured, I have not seen this so consistently in a collective situation before. Some of my students had not slept through the night since the first earthquake. It makes me wonder about the shock-trauma of all the other people in Japan as well, when I was just observing a group of 26. We managed to work on correcting this pattern immediately, with tissue salts and the Aura-Soma pomanders. At the end of the four days, their energy fields were all balanced again.

Later on that evening, I thought the washing machine I was running was going a bit ballistic in a spin cycle. I could feel the room shaking. At the time I was looking at an astrological chart for my friend Retha in South Africa, and communicating with her via direct messages on Twitter. I realised the shaking wasn’t coming from behind me, but rather from beneath me; and then the building started to sway. And creak. And it carried on for long enough for me to move with my laptop onto the floor alongside the bed (to create a protected triangle position according to the e-mail my osteopath had sent me before I left home) to ride it out, continuing our conversation as it progressed. My sense of fearlessness was certainly getting a serious test!

I listened for sounds of evacuation, or an alarm, and there was nothing. So I stayed alone on the floor in my room on the 18th floor while the building did its groaning slow dance for the next 20 minutes. In the meantime Retha had found the earthquake report on the internet, and I managed to switch on CNN who were also reporting it live. Originally classed a 7.4 magnitude, this aftershock was later downgraded to a 7.1 – the biggest since the original event. It was quite good to have Retha on the other end of cyberspace; if it all went down like a house of cards, someone would know about it! It was a scary and wondrous experience, but I did not feel fear.

After that there were at least another 6 aftershocks, one of them quite intense late on the afternoon of Monday the 11th. This time I was lower down on the third floor offices of my host with my translator, Sachie, and a client, at the end of a consultation. The Aura-Soma bottles threatened to bounce off the shelves as the building did the jitterbug. The other staff were keeping things in place in the offices alongside, and again, no one panicked or evacuated the building. Later that evening, dining with Aura-Soma friends 40 floors up, other fearless souls from the UK and Australia, we gently swayed to the motion and continued our meal. Each time I silently thanked my angels and the ingenuity of Japanese engineering. I was safe and secure, wherever I was.

It feels a bit like having sea-legs after one of these experiences – it’s like being on a boat, but instead of moving relative to the horizon, everything shifts and sways. Walking feels a little strange afterwards. I think the unusual movement does something to disorient the energy field pole of grounding beneath the feet, which Aura-Soma teaching calls the Earth Star, and this has to find its position again afterwards.

These events have the potential to create fear and insecurity. Certainly where one is in the epicentre and directly affected by acts of God there will be little choice but to feel this. For many people though, there is no direct devastation, just the repetitive cycle of facing the fear. It can create a spiral of trauma in the psyche as one feels helpless and at the mercy of the gods.

Part of the journey of conquering fear is to consciously feel the gratitude of being spared from harm, whilst acknowledging the mighty power of nature; and looking for the lessons to be learned. Here are two insights that I feel are most important to consider; and to apply them wherever we are in the world:

Do we really do our bit to honour Mother Earth? How can we expect her to find balance if we continue with our devastation of nature?

Perhaps the Frankenstein of Fukishima offers the world a chance to look at our choices regarding nuclear energy, when there are natural energies to be harnessed if only science would prioritise and invest in optimising these sources of power.

In South Africa, I think it is time to stand up and say a very strong NO to the proposals regarding fracking in the Karoo; and to oppose the plans for more nuclear plants on the West Coast where there is also an earthquake fault line, even if not as active as those in the Pacific rim. Yet.

Please take some action, that the recent events in Japan may help to serve us everywhere in bringing balance to our planet.

Say NO to Fracking in the Karoo – Greenpeace Africa

I find myself contemplating a chuckling Mercury as I sit at Johannesburg OR Tambo Airport with my flight to Tokyo delayed for 4 hours. It is this kind of thing that happens, little frustrations – my onward connection in Hong Kong will also be missed – and I need to get a message to Tokyo about when I should eventually arrive. I might be able to do it if the battery on the iPhone doesn’t die before then.

Astrologers are aware of this phenomenon that impacts travel arrangements, communications, information systems and technology. This Mercury retrograde period started on April 1st (Hahahaha! April fool I hear him echoing through the cosmos) and ends on Good Friday. The trickster will play the fool with us during this time.

I was aware of this period when I booked my ticket, but arrangement times were set and I could not but fly during this time. On April 1st, Telkom had to visit my house because the phone line went on the blink. I had a longer than usual day at the office trying to upgrade accounting software. It seemed to take forever – and the helpline people weren’t being good at answering the helpline!

This is not a period to take risks with your technology. Don’t take shortcuts in frustration, and remember to make good backups of your important information. Check that your memory sticks or other devices are actually working… it is a time where the last laugh can be on you!

Since my return journey is during this period too, I am hoping that this humble acknowledgment to the Trickster will spare me the pain of delays on the way home… I’ll keep you posted.

Just after New Year I took a look at the solar eclipse path of January 4th 2011, and noticed that it was visible over parts of Europe, the Mediterranean, North Africa, the Middle East, Eastern Europe and into Russia. Eclipses in traditional astrology are considered malefic in nature, and particularly in regard to natural disasters, national disasters and effects on heads of state. The areas where they are visible are particularly vulnerable to these types of effects. At the time I wondered whether there would be earthquakes, riots, war or some political upheaval that would unfold. When the Tunisian unrest shook things up a few days later, I made a mental note that it was within the eclipse path; when Egypt followed suit, I realised there could be an astrological story to explore here.

I started looking at charts and writing this up on the weekend that President Muburak stepped down. I got caught up in a lot of other work in-between, and subsequently we have seen troubles rising in Libya as the region seen in the astro-map ignites with the fury of repressed anger. With regard to Libya, the timing has fallen later than for Egypt and astrologically it bears out since it lies to the west, or ‘later in the day’ than Egypt. I haven’t had a chance to look at the individual charts for Libya as well, which will be similar but with dynamics falling in different houses, and not necessarily the same outcome.

I find it incredibly interesting that this map marked out the territory in advance of the upheavals and would like to offer a little glimpse into the astrological dance of the solstices and eclipses around the end of last year and the first quarter of 2011 for Egypt. Some of this will read like a different language if you are not an astrologer. I have tried to keep it as user-friendly as I can, but have to use the language of astrology to point to the dynamics. I have included pdf files of the charts with the astrological tables for the astrologer to download.

Political astrology always starts with the ingress of the sun into the cardinal points of the zodiac, equinoxes and solstices. Last December there was a lunar eclipse around the time of the solstice; it occurred within the 24 hours prior to the ingress of the sun into Capricorn. This lunar eclipse is the partner to the solar eclipse of January 4th. The lunar eclipse occurred in Cairo at 10:13am on December 21st, and would not have been visible there at that time.

I was delighted to receive this feedback on 11 January 2011 and asked if I could share this experience here:

Hi Alison

The Moonsign Calendar is exactly what I am looking for.

I have been using your Tissue salts with my family for over a year now whilst following the moonsigns and have found our general health to have improved tremendously. I have 3 young children who are naturally prone to picking up coughs, colds etc from school and this has dramatically decreased with the use of your Tissue Salts.

Thank you & have a glorious day.

Mr LB

PS The Tissue Salts I ordered yesterday, arrived this morning which is super efficient.

It’s been a little more than a week since returning from the incredible home of the White Lions of Timbavati. What a privilege it is to be able to share knowledge about tissue salts in this special place. I am grateful to all of the participants who made the journey to the heartland of the lions for making it a fantastic workshop. There were 7 from Cape Town, 3 from Johannesburg and 2 each from England and Belgium. It was a remarkable turnout for such short notice, especially for our inter-continental travelers.

After arrival and introductions on the first day, Jason and Don of the Global Protection White Lion Trust (WLT) team whisked us off into the bush in search of the magnificent lions. Everything changed after that. Looking into the lion’s eyes has an indescribable effect on one’s being. It’s as if your heart just opens and you are flooded with an intense feeling of peace. Time slows down and the fatigue and stress of getting there dissipates. Peace. Excited, but peaceful, was the feeling upon the return to camp.

I particularly want to share an interesting phenomenon that I observed on this occasion of presenting the workshop. At the beginning of class the next morning, I proceeded to do what I always do, and offered to check stress patterns in the participants’ energy fields. I always expect to find stress patterns in new subjects, and have only twice in my 16 years as a practitioner found balanced energy fields when people first arrive in my rooms for a consultation. I like to do this, even though I’ll be the first to admit that it is not considered a ‘scientific’ measurable test, but something consistent to my experience that I can use as a measure of change as the class progresses, and participants begin to use the tissue salts or Aura-Soma products. (I’m still hoping some inventor out there is going to create the appropriate scientific measuring device).

Needless to say, I was quite surprised when I checked the first volunteer and there were no stress patterns to be found; even more astounded when I found no stress patterns in the entire group! Given that some people had been traveling for more than 24 hours before arriving there, this was totally unexpected. It could only be something to do with the environment of Timbavati and the White Lions.

There were 3 people arriving on days after the first day, and when they did, I asked their permission to check their energy fields before they met the lions. I found the usual stress patterning that is common in most of my initial test subjects. Immediately after their first visit to the lions, and before using any tissue salts, I checked again. Wow! Beautiful, expanded and balanced energy fields.

It clearly had something to do with the White Lions. There is some kind of aura surrounding these magnificent animals that impacts on humans who connect with them. Perhaps it is the energy of love, because you just cannot help but feel that in their presence; or perhaps it is as the African shamans say, that the Star Lions are messengers of the light. (In the ancient Tsonga language ‘Tsimba-vaati’ means “lions from the stars”). My interim conclusion is that when the White Lions allow you make a connection with them, light fills and expands your energy field and something beautiful within you awakens.

Our workshop unfolded between visits to the lions, an exploration of the seasons of nature, human physiology, tissue salts and the visible spectrum of light. Everyone rose to the challenge of long days – getting up before dawn to see the lions and visiting them again after the class every evening, with balmy November hours between. I think everyone felt it was worth it.

Since my return I have received many e-mails and telephone calls from the participants, all stating how the lions are still very present – simply unforgettable. Before we got to Day 3, they were clamouring for a more advanced level tissue salts workshop, and Linda and I have proposed dates for 19-23 May 2011, with an option of an extra day visit to Kruger Park, and if interest is sufficient, an additional two days to visit the wild horses of Kaapse Hoop; this initial level of the course will be offered the following weekend 26 – 30 May 2011, with the options available to stay on there too. As soon as I have the costs for the options available, I will post these Sacred Journeys to Health up on our ‘Courses and Events’ Page.

Here is some of what they had to say:

‘Just wanted to say a huge thank you for the course and the opportunity of being with the white lions. I was so fascinated by the course and the connections you have made with the colour and astrology and the enormous amount of work you have invested in it. Your ability to make those connections and originality is really awesome and I wish you every possible success with it.’
-	Julie Greensmith, Johannesburg

‘It’s been two days and unlike some getaways I think I still feel the effect of the amazing weekend we had. I hope it doesn’t go away soon…
I want to thank you for putting together this weekend; I met so many amazing people and I truly felt like I belonged. I hope to see you all soon, (before I get withdrawal symptoms ha-ha!)
Alison you are truly an amazing person, please keep me on your mailing list for anything and everything.’
-	Lorna Coleman, Johannesburg

‘Thank you again for including me in the course. The info was really interesting, and I’m sure the salts will be most beneficial to my patients.
I’m at a loss for words regarding the Lions. Just one of those things that words cannot adequately express. It was ROARSOME!’
-	ML, Cape Town

‘Thanks for the lovely time spent all together, it was awesome!!!’
-	MC, Cape Town

‘It was just wonderful. We have been remembering and talking about the lions every day since we got back…’
-	IJ, Cape Town

‘My life has changed forever… I wouldn’t have missed this trip/pilgrimage. As for the time, it seemed like a ‘long’ time!! I do so look forward to a more extended time with you and others next time. Thank you for all you do!!’
‘I continue to live in a lion’s world. Don’t know exactly what’s happening to me but it ain’t the same!! Can’t seem to disconnect from there.’
-	Elizabeth de Jonge, Belgium

‘Waw… what an experience and indescribable feelings the visit to Timbavati was… The White Lions have changed me forever!!! So extraordinary!!’
-	Mirjam Nafri, Belgium

‘The lions are also on my mind. I don’t think it is possible to see them and not be affected. As for those who shoot them, I can only think that they are desperately sad people who have lost their souls.’
-	Cathy Eden, Cape Town

‘K and I are chomping at the bit to our next course with you! Do you have any idea on dates yet please?’
-	SR, United Kingdom

Just wanted to drop you a line and thank you again for the brilliant Tissue Salt course! I really find the salts fascinating and you have so much information locked away in your head, I am in awe! I could listen to you talk about them for ages and never get bored! I am really excited at the thought of coming back in May and learning even more about the salts, especially in the wonderful environment of the White Lions! My husband is going to come with me next time.

Annihilation of a Global Treasure – Hunting Atrophy

The white lions are sacred to the indigenous Africans of the region, whose shamans had predicted their arrival for hundreds of years before they were first noted in the 1970s. From then on out, human greed ensured that they were hunted, or spirited off to ‘lion breeding programs’ or ‘lion parks’. Many of these facilities allow visitors to cuddle cubs, and as they mature, the lions disappear into the annals of the ‘trophy’ hunters. If you handle lion cubs, please be aware that that precious and cute little thing in your arms is most likely to end up in a very bad place once it grows up and gets expensive to feed.

I cannot understand the mind-set of modern people who wish to shoot lions simply for a trophy. Hunting for the pot is one thing, but to hunt an apex predator purely for personal ego is inconceivable to me. Perhaps they are ignorant of the fact, but in most instances these days the “big brave safari hunter” is shooting a lion that is relatively tame. The lion is taken from a cage where they have become accustomed to human care, put into the bush without food for a few days before the hunt, and then on the day is given a carcass that he proceeds to devour. Here he is ‘discovered’ for the hunter, and then shot with sophisticated equipment. Is this fair game?

It’s a sick industry, involving all types of lions in South Africa, the tawny and the white, that has become known as ‘canned lion hunting’. These lion ‘farmers’ claim that lions born in captivity cannot be rehabilitated to the wild. The work of the WLT shows what a lie that is and just how successful rehabilitation can be. It is, I believe, the most authentic conservation program of its kind in South Africa, if not the world. The canned lion industry needs to be canned.

The white lions are endemic to the Timbavati, and until Linda and Jason’s work, they had become extinct in the wild, even though there are plenty of game reserves in the area. Sadly, many of these reserves support the hunting of lions, and will sometimes obtain lions for the hunt from ‘breeding programs’. The hunting of wild tawny lions from this region eliminates the rare gene pool that gives rise to the white lion, because in a natural situation they can be born from their golden parents and, contrary to misperception, they are not freaky albinos.

The ultimate vision we hold is to see the hunting of lions banned in South Africa (or certainly in Timbavati for starters) so that the fences can come down and these magnificent animals are once again roaming their heritage lands. It is interesting that one of our northern neighbours, Botswana, leads the way in this and has a complete ban on lion hunting. At least there is a point of light in Africa revealing moral ethics in this regard.

Unfortunately, just as we returned from our trip, the South African courts have given these canned lion farmers an opportunity to appeal against the new proposed legislation, that many of us have worked hard for, that would have given the canned lions a little chance at having a life before being shot. The proposed legislation would have required that any lions being hunted had been rehabilitated to life in the wild for at least 2 years. The Predators Breeding Association has now challenged this, and canned hunting is right back on track. Of course the main reason behind the objection is that it is very expensive to rehabilitate lions to the wild, and the so-called industry perpetuates the myth that it is impossible to do. (There is a link to a report on this at the bottom of this article.)

All creatures bright and beautiful, all creatures great and small...

As far as the work of the WLT goes, funding is urgently needed for more land that can be protected in order to continue the reintroduction programme of white lions into the endemic area, until lion hunting is banned and it is safe for the fences to come down. The work of the WLT also goes beyond the lions and is closely interwoven with the surrounding African communities, particularly focusing on empowering the school children in the area. These are our future leaders, and this is what the lion symbolizes.

This is about sustainable environments for humans and for animals of the region, with deep respect for nature. I am both humbled and honoured to offer my services in support of their authentic work. I offer my grateful thanks to Linda, Jason and the rest of the WLT team for the opportunity of doing so, and for their excellent hospitality.

The White Lions are a global treasure, not simply a South African one. Once they are extinct, it will be too late to realise we should have valued them more.

Please take a look at the new White Lions Homeland website and the original WLT website to see the extent of their work. If your angels tap you on the shoulder, you may make a donation there too.
Thank you if you do!

Q: I read the article about tissue salts. If the dilution is 1 active molecule (salt) to 1000000 molecules lactose, I was wondering if one tablet contains 1 000 000 molecules and if one can be sure that a tissue salt molecule is actually in the tablet you take.

A: It’s a good question!

The answer is that the tissue salt is sequentially ground into the base (and ours is not a lactose base) in a long and tedious process. This results in the molecular bonds of the tissue salt mineral being broken down until you have a point where they can no longer be identified in a molecular form. If it has been done correctly, you will have a mineral energy carried in the base. At a 1ppm dilution, this should result in a quantum particle that has the properties of material and of light. These mineral energies can be absorbed easily by the cells and converted back into material form, if required, or alternately just used as energy for metabolism. In the same way when you bite into a carrot or a bean, you can’t identify molecules of salt or magnesium in the structure.

A much more simple but vaguely similar analogy would be throwing all the ingredients of a cake in a bowl together and roughly mixing it up without using the correct sequence, nor proper blending, and then wondering why it results in a dense rock rather than a beautiful light cake.

I hope that makes some sense to you!
